Meet your DJ

Hi! My name is Imani Outlaw aka DJ Outlaw and I’m a professional Weddings+Events DJ based in South Florida.

I’ve been obsessed with music for as long as I can remember. My parents were born and raised in Brooklyn, NY so hip hop and rap music is basically in my DNA. Plus, I am a 90’s baby, so of course I love pop throwbacks, 00’s hits, dancehall/afro-beats, and R&B jams.

Growing up playing basketball competitively, I was always the one making my team’s warm up CD to get everyone hype before the game. This was also the era of burning CDs and making these mixes for my friends was my way of showing love and appreciation. I truly believe music is so powerful and has the superpower of connection.

Fast forward to my senior year of college and my basketball career was ending… I started to think what was next. I decided to put all my time and energy into learning the art of DJing. I got my first gig at a private party and never looked back. I later became the resident DJ at local club/bar for 2 years.

Post grad, I was attending several weddings and realized there was a need for nightlife energy in the wedding and luxury events space. We decided to launch DJ Outlaw Entertainment to curate magical musical experiences for each and every client/couple we serve.

When I’m not starting the party for my clients’ events, I am spending time with friends and family, chilling at the beach, or trying a new restaurant with my fiancé. I love to travel, watch reality TV dating shows, and take an upbeat spin or pilates class.
