Meet your DJ

Hi! My name is Imani Outlaw aka DJ Outlaw and I’m a DJ based in South Florida.

I’ve been obsessed with music for as long as I can remember. My parents were born and raised in Brooklyn, NY so hip hop and rap music is basically in my DNA. Plus, I am an August virgo (which essentially tells you everything you need to know about me) and 90’s baby, so of course I love all the pop throwbacks, 00’s hits, and R&B jams.

Growing up playing basketball competitively, I was always the one making my team’s warm up CD to get everyone hype before the game. This was also the era of burning CDs and making these mixes for my friends was my love language. I truly believe music is so impactful and has the superpower of connection.

Fast forward to my senior year of college and my basketball career was ending… I started to think what was next. I decided to put all my time and energy into learning the art of DJing. I got my first gig at a private party and never looked back. I later became the resident DJ at a local club/bar for 2 years.

Post grad, I found myself attending friends’ weddings, going to wellness events in my community, and even attending large corporate conferences through my day job and started to notice something was missing… the music and energy didn’t always match the experience. I saw the need for a much cooler and more curated vibe in these spaces. That vision helped launch DJ Outlaw Entertainment and we create magical musical experiences for every client we serve.

When I’m not starting the party for my clients’ events, I am spending time with friends and family, chilling at the beach, or trying a new restaurant with my husband. I love to travel, grab a coffee or matcha, watch reality TV, and get a good sweat in at a workout class.
